The Media Technical Group's Priorities
Remit
The Media Technical Group aims to develop, maintain and promote best practice guidelines for the production workflow including: digital and print. The Group exists to promote best practice and provide information on relevant areas for consumer/customer magazine and business media production personnel. The Group aims to develop and raise standards, educate and resolve problems in a collaborative and co-operative manner.
The Media Technical Group's Priorities Include:
• To explore the impact on production teams of ePublishing/digital media with a view to developing best practice guidelines including ad specifications for tablet and mobile.
• To support and promote relevant initiatives of related organisations including IDEAlliance, Ghent PDF work group.
• To continue to develop and maintain the Pass4press guidelines for the digital workflow. To incorporate the latest information on the PDFX/-4 workflow within the Pass4press guidelines.
• To continue to develop the Pic4press guidelines, including exploring colour management and file format for web content, including video content.
• To investigate licensing issues around cross-platform fonts.
• To review best practices for soft proofing with a view to developing best practice guidelines. To keep a watching brief of the work of ISO.
• To promote the Group’s initiatives via the various PPA communications channels.
